Saturday April 25th from 10am-2pm Seattle Works Spring Garden Event.
Join us to kick off the spring gardening season! On both dates, 10-15 energetic Seattle Works volunteers will be doing routine garden maintenance and some very special new projects, and we welcome you to participate as well! Refreshments will be provided, and King County Master Gardeners will be teaching all volunteers about sheet-mulching and composting. The April 18th event is part of National Environmental Education week!

Sunday May 10th from 10am-4pm The Dedication Celebration for the Magnuson Community Center Bird-Friendly Landscape, and The Festival of Trees
Join us as we celebrate the completion of this great new landscape for birds and other urban wildlife, complete with native plants, nest boxes, a solar powered water feature, and more. FREE garden tours, refreshments, a marching band parade, and ribbon cutting with Ciscoe Morris!
Afterwards, join the short parade over to the Festival of Trees, a FREE, day-long "pep rally for our urban forest", featuring a huge variety of activities for families and children; performances by the New Old Time Chautauqua, and talks by famous local garden experts such as Marty Wingate, Arthur Lee Jacobsen, Linda Chalker-Scott, and Ciscoe. Plus, much, much more! We’ll be hosting two children’s activity areas- indoors in the Brig building (#406) and outside in the Children’s Garden. Both areas will have free nature crafts and exploration adventures that are lots of fun for kids and families! Visit http://birdfriendlylandscape.blogspot.com and www.plantamnesty.com for more info.
Wednesday June 17th, July 15th, and August 12th from 1-3pm Summer Afternoon “Mini-Workparties”
These are a summer tradition in the Children’s Garden, and a fun, low-key way to do small garden projects and maintenance. Free children’s activities will be provided.
